What is WeatherMax Technology™?
Platinum Patch™ Advanced Exterior Filler is formulated with innovative weathermax technology for powerful weatherproof protection preventing discoloration, cracking and crumbling. It’s tough ultra-hydrophobic surface provides a waterproof repair that won’t swell, soften, blister or break down. It’s mold, mildew and algae resistant making it perfect for areas with continuous exposure to the elements.
Is mold, mildew and algae resistance important for a repair product?
Yes, mold, mildew and algae growth is common on the exterior of homes that get a lot of shade or are battling humid and hot conditions. It often shows up on the east facing side of a home but can appear in other areas based on the amount of exposure to shade, heat or humidity. Algae is unsightly and can be time consuming to remove. Having a repair product that is mold, mildew and algae resistant means it won’t grow on or around the repair so the filler stays looking clean and new.
What applications are NOT recommended for this product?
DAP® Platinum Patch should not be used for floors or as a caulk, sealant or joint filler over cracks & joints where expansion & contraction may occur or as a skim coat. It also should not be used when staining is preferred or for continuous underwater use.
